Maurice and His Dictionary

Maurice and His Dictionary

Maurice always dreamed of studying law, but now he’s stuck in a Jamaican refugee camp, far away from home!
Check out this fascinating (and true!) graphic novel about Cary Fagan’s dad and his experience during the Holocaust.

Really Interesting!

Review by Alma

This book is about a boy named Maurice and his life during the Holocaust. Life is really scary for him, as at the beginning of the book, he's basically just ushered outside his house to another place, without much warning, and from then on, life just gets really strange, he moves to a lot of different places, depending on where is safe and where isn't. I'd recommend this book to anyone who likes historical graphic novels like the PJ Our Way choice Hidden.

Maurice And His Dictionary

Review by YGM

I liked this graphic novel. Sure--- it was a pretty quick read but it showed a family with trouble being Jews and staying alive. In life there shouldn't be judgment by this kind of stuff but by your personality instead. I loved how Maurice worked his way to his dream. Everybody should be able to complete their dreams. But there will always be something challenging--- someone or something trying to stop you. You should face these challenges headstrong and fulfill your dreams just like Maurice did.

Good But Not Interesting

Review by SacKing

The part in this book that I liked is that there was a war going on. The part that I didn’t like was that Jews were at risk. If you want to read a book about serious stuff then you should pick this but if you don’t then you shouldn’t.

Great book

Review by Mbhpats

I loved how Maurice wanted to be a lawyer and he had to go through all those places in WW2 to get there.
