As the only black girl at Hebrew school, Imani’s less than curious about her adoptive family’s Jewish history, and more than a little curious about her own. How can she find out about her birth family without hurting her mom’s feelings?

In the Length of a String, Imani's Bat Mitzvah is coming up and all she wants to know is where she comes from. She is adopted and doesn't know a lot about her birth parents. Then one day, she finds her great-grandma Anna's diary, and she reads about how she came over to America to escape the Nazi's. Imani's reads about Anna's hopes and dreams of her new life in America. I was so hooked on the book I finished in less then 4 hours. It was truly incredible! I could relate to this book because I am Jewish, and don't always come across many fabulous books as this one. Definitely recommend!!!!

Amazing book

Review by hotchocolate09

This book was so good and exiting it leaves you wondering a lot. I didn't want to stop reading it. It is a little sad and if you get scared really easily you might not like it.
