One Harry Potter is NOT that great
Two it is not a boring book
Three it is a good, suspenseful book. I like that.

I don't care if it is the Jewish Harry Potter, I tried to read it and I just could not get anywhere with it. I pick it up once in a while, and put it down 5 minutes later.

This book was a great read and has lots of twists and turns. It is set in the 1900s

This book is nothing like Harry Potter. Harry Potter is sooooooooo good. This book is boring and dull. Most of the parts of the book were super slow and the story never really moved on with the plot. It was also a bit scary because of the dybucks.

so good

this book is good. I really like it, but it is a little confusing. it was a little bit boring. also, I have read Harry Potter. this is an entirely different book, so don't compare it to that.

Great, "magical" read :)

Thumbs up!

Interesting book, freaky at times, funny at times. Cool characters, fun mystery. The only reason it's not 5 out of 5 is because the writing was a little dense. Definitely try this one!

HORROR
Submitted 7/2/2018 by readersam

The book was so bad I did not even finish the book. The book just told the whole day, you do not put the whole day into a book. I have read Harry Potter and that boy is not like Harry.

awesome and amazing

why do people compare this to harry potter?
Submitted 12/29/2017 by oldworld

Harry Potter is exiting, funny, and inspiring. This book is boring and dull. Where is the similarity?

I read this book once, and I don't plan to read it again. I do love a good fantasy, but this book let me down. Also-not very funny. And I love humor! If you are okay with the lack of comedy, you may like The Inquisitor's Apprentice.

Great Book

This book taught me more about Israel.

This book was OK.

boring!!!
Submitted 12/10/2017 by readersam

The book was about a kid who became an apprentice to an investigator and goes to magic places with him to investigate magic crimes.

This book was so boring that I could not even finish it. Each place he went had so many details that the story plot never moved forward. It is the only time I did not finish a book. I don't understand why some people compare this to Harry Potter. The only similarity is that there is magic.

I would not suggest this book.

I loved this book!

This book made me think more about the importance of family.

This book was actually one of the best books i have have read, Jewish and not, and if you know me that's saying a lot. It was a Jewish mystery novel, and had a lot in common with Harry Potter in the sense that its a magical kid whisked into an adventure he'd rather not be a part of. Basically, I recommend this book to all ages.

i liked it.
Submitted 11/4/2017 by thegronk

It is interesting because It mixes history with fantasy and the book talks about Sacha Kessler aka the Jewish Harry Potter. The cool part about it is that Sacha is in the New York Police Department or NYPD.

Submitted 10/8/2017 by djh

This book was way to long and was very boring. It was also very confusing. The ending isn't that good either.

Kinda slow, kinda weird, kinda intruiging
Submitted 10/8/2017 by Zephyros777

Very likeable characters, but the story arc jumps from life to the dybbuk to the Edison mystery, back and forth and back and forth. The difference between Lily, Sacha and Wolf make a huge impact on the story too, and help the plot along a little better. The plot didn't really make sense, either, as Sacha's ability to see magic really doesn't do anything other than get Mrs. Lassky into jail, and him into a job.

The book was awsome

I liked it, but the only thing I disliked was how slow it was. They explained in way too much detail and they took too long with the boring stuff. But i love mystery and adventure, so if you like Harry Potter (or even if you don't) you should read this book.

Best ever!😀

I loved this book!

I loved this book, the main characters Sacha, Lily and Inquisitor Wolf are all interesting, complex and relatively likable. I would take off half a star only because the book was sort of hard to get into. Once I got past the beginning I was hooked. Please, I am begging for a sequel!! :)

Jewish Harry Potter of three stars
Submitted 9/20/2017 by the blue cat

I liked this book.

This book made me think more about the importance of family.

The book was likable, but honestly it took forever, like 2 1/2 weeks! Since I really like harry potter, this book looked very interesting but not as interesting as I thought. With Thomas Edison in the story, I thought this: (In parentheses, brackets and braces:) (What does he have to do with New York City ?) [What does he have to do with Judaism ?] {What does he have to do with witchcraft and wizardry?} That is the end of my three star review of Inquisitor's Apprentice.

Pretty boring and slow, but in the good parts full of suspense.
Submitted 9/3/2017 by reader2468

I liked it but the beginning was a bit boring, just telling about his day-to-day life nothing really exciting happening. The end was a real cliffhanger though, it makes you want to write to the author and demand that he makes another book so that you can find out what happens. Even though the book is a bit slow the parts with the Dybuk in them make it like Harry Potter, because Harry Potter is always in a dangerous predicament.

slow, but a great plot.

I loved this book!

I learned more about Jewish history from this book.

The book The Inquisitor's Apprentice was very fun and action filled. It had some scary, fun moments that would keep you reading for hours. This book teaches you about some history of New York when there were a lot of Jewish immigrants. The only bad thing about The Inquisitor's Apprentice was that there are a lot of Yiddish words that made the book hard to follow at some points. I really loved this fantasy/mystery book! Great pick!

I liked this book.

This book made me think more about being Jewish.

I liked this book because it had a lot of magic and stuff about being Jewish. I also liked the crime solving and the mysteries. It was a fun book. I though it was a little hard to read for me because I think really for older kids. The Hebrew and Yiddish mixed in with the English made it harder to read. The sentences were really long too. It took me a while to get into it, but once I got into it I couldn't put it down. If it is a little hard for you to start with, stick with it. It is worth it.

A must read!!!

This book was just OK

This book made me think more about friendship.

I have only read half of The Inquisitor's Apprentice. The beginning of it is great but then it goes down hill. The plot of the book got lost and the points and values of the real world are lost in fiction. The author tried to pair magic and Jews in a way that did not work. I do not recommend anyone into harry potter reading this book. This is a bad example of magic and real worlds paired.

The Inquisitor’s Apprentice was a fantastic book that grabbed
my attention from the very beginning. This book reminded me
of Harry Potter, Nicholas Flamel, and Percy Jackson. This is a fun adventure fantasy story that has mystery and magic.
This story takes place in a time when magic is a known thing but is illegal. Follow Sacha as he discovers a power of his that will make life both easier and more difficult. As Sacha discovers that he can see magic!
