Yosef Mendelevich by Emma

Review by Emma

The book Yosef Mendelevich was a very interesting book that taught me about the Soviet-Russian history. Because it is nonfiction, I learned about Communism and "Operation Wedding," which I did not know about before. Another interesting takeaway is that different people can be Jewish in different ways and have diverse ways of expressing Judaism, and no matter how you want to express it, you are still Jewish. I would recommend this book to anyone who is interested in history, especially Jewish history.

I love this book because it teaches kids a lot about the past and origins of their Jewish culture. It also really shows some of the amazing Jewish people who are in the book because they are both important and also inspiring to kids. Love this book. Definitely recommend.

Yosef mendelovich

Review by GavrielSinai

An amazing book about how a boy who figures out he is Jewish and when he grows up he tries to escape the Soviet Union and eventually succeeds after being captured and sentenced to years in prison. He meets Natan Sharansky and a lot of other friends Highly recommended if you enjoy reading about refuseniks and people who fight for their rights to be free and practice their Judaism freely.
