Amazing, magical book!

Review by Sheina Brocha

Sweep is about an orphan girl who is treated really badly. It is set in London where she is a chimney sweep. It's a really dangerous job. This is a story about her survival - and it includes some magic. It's a dramatic, sad and hopeful story. I really recommend it. It gave me insight how life used to be for poor children. FIVE STARS!!!!

Sweep: the story of a girl and her monster

Review by NikiK

Sweep is about a girl named Nan who was taken care of by a chimney sweep who disappeared a while back. From the sweep she received a piece of coal that stays warm. She keeps this with her at all times. She then was forced to go and work for this mean sweep. She swept chimneys and eventually went to sweep the chimneys of a school and almost dies doing it. When she wakes up from the accident, she learns that the piece of coal is actually a golem that she named Charlie. They then go on adventures together. This Is a heartwarming story about friendship and the hardships of work.
