Plant for Today, Plant for Tomorrow: Microgreens from PJ Our Way

Find out more about PJ Library & PJ Our Way’s microgreens kit – coming to your mailbox this December!

Each year, PJ Library and PJ Our Way send out a special gift to our subscriber families, and we’re especially excited about this year’s choice.

Our goal is to provide experiences that can be enjoyed right now and will help create a bright future for our families and our community. To that end, we’re delighted to share that the theme of this year’s winter gift is Plant for Today, Plant for Tomorrow.

Each family will receive a minibook with a story about planting for future generations, rooted in how our ancestors planted and built a great world for us. We’ve also included seeds, a grow mat, and easy instructions for a fun activity that’ll sprout an edible “miniforest” in just over a week.

In addition, through the end of January 2021, PJ Library will match up to $50,000 of our families’ donations to the National Forest Foundation. Every dollar helps them plant one tree where it’s needed most, but you can double your impact because PJ Library will match your donation! Together, we’ll make the future as green as it can be.

To plant for tomorrow, join the PJ Library tree planting campaign. Go to nationalforestfoundation.org/pjlibrary to plant trees as a family. (Each tree costs $1.00.) Instructions for your microgreens kit plus fun book lists and activities for the whole family are available on the PJ Our Way kids’ blog.

We hope you enjoy!

This is so welcome. We went to the National Forest Foundation site and made a donation to support the tree-planting in honor of Prof. Samuel Sandler (1925-2020), a Holocaust survivor and emeritus professor at The University of Chicago. It may be a good idea for you to have a link directly from pjourway.org/planting to the donation site at the National Forest Foundation. It would streamline the process. Thank you for the tree-planting campaign and happy Tu B'Shevat!

Thank you for offering this option to plant trees! We just made a $36 donation through the national forest foundation website, but couldn't find a way to link it to pjlibrary to be able to match this donation.
