WHY DO WE EAT LATKES?
In the Hanukkah story one tiny jar of oil keeps the lamps burning for eight full nights. Since Hanukkah celebrates this miracle, it's traditional to eat foods fried in oil as part of the festivities.
THE TRADITIONAL
Traditionally, latkes are topped with sour cream or applesauce. You can enjoy your latkes this way or you can get creative with one of our suggestions or one of your own.
