Awful, Lousy, unsatisfactory book
Submitted 4/7/2019 by AlienInvasion

Basically, as I said in the title, this book was NOT GOOD. And so don’t select it.

And if you are confused about why there is a 5 star review from a year ago by me, DinosaursAreAwesome, I don’t remember submitting it, liking it, and the caption was “Couldn’t stop reading it” which is not something I’d say, so I am assuming my sister accidentally, or maybe not accidentally if she was feeling mad me that day, used my account instead of hers to make that review. Anyway, don’t trust it.

WHATEVER YOU DO DON’ T SELECT THIS BOOK

Pretty excellent if you ask me

This book was just OK

I picked out this book as my first PJ Library book. It looked good and I was exited to read it. I read about half of it but then I stopped. The reason was because it was not a book I enjoyed very much. It did not fascinate me and take me to another world. I found it a little boring. I don't think it was very exiting and not very many things were going on. I want to try reading it again someday soon but for now I am putting it aside until I think I am interested. Thank You PJ OUR WAY for letting me read this book. Even though this book wasn't my favorite I can't wait to read more from you. If the description of this book interests you go for it and read this book. If you love it good for you and if you don't I'm sure you have good reasons. See Ya!!

This book made me think more about the importance of family.

Well I picked this book on my own, not letting my mom screen through the choices. It was alright. I mean, it teaches you to be proud of your family roots no matter what. Also not to be afraid of what others might think as long as your content with your happiness.

This book made me think more about being Jewish.

This book was very interesting and I liked how the main character, Caroline, thinks so much about others and not trying to hurt their feelings. I also liked how the author put conversations that she had with her grandmother before she died into the chapters to add meaning. Great book.

Thumbs up!

This book made me think more about being Jewish.

This book also made me think about the importance of friendship. Before I read this book, I thought that when I reviewed it, I would rate it two or three stars. This book definitely proved me wrong.

I like this book because it is nonfiction and I usually read fiction books. This book was definitely just as good as any other fiction book I have ever read. It was for sure the best nonfiction book I have ever read.

I recommend this book to anyone who is looking for a very unique book that is not too complicated but not too simple either. This book is also a little sad but it is mostly in the beginning. This book is awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :)

This book made me think more about being Jewish.

Caroline's mom is Jewish and her dad is not so she does not know if she should have a Bat Mitzvah. When her grandmother passes away and leaves her with a Star of David necklace she wears it to school but it breaks and she misses her school pictures! This is a great book and everyone should read it.

It was okay...

This book made me think more about being Jewish.

This book shows us how even if we are not one full religion, we can still do alot of Mitzvot. If you had one parent non-Jewish, would you still want to have a Bar/Bat Mitzvah?

This book is amazing!!

Submitted 10/9/2015 by Narwhal Lover

I know some people didn't like this book, but I most certainly did. I thought it was really easy to relate to the main character, who is having trouble deciding whether or not she should have a bat mitzvah, and is a 12 year old girl, who we can happily follow in her journey of... Oh, I don't know, that just sounded good.
But anyway. I would totally recommend this book!

Not written well
Submitted 1/20/2015 by super._hannah

This book was just OK

This book made me think more about being Jewish.

This book was not written well. It does not have good describing words or a good plot. It is very similar to the book "The Whole Story of a Half Girl", which was written well. This is about a girl named Caroline who is very close to her Grandma. Her Grandma passes away and the book is mainly about that. Read at your own risk.

I liked this book because it took place in modern time. I could understand what was going on with Caroline better because I could relate to it. My favorite part of the book was the sleepover because I could really understand and relate to what was going on and why the girls wanted to go and didn’t want to go.

I would recommend this book because it helps you understand how to stick up for someone and how to be yourself which are all very important in life. Also, it was a really quick read.

Poem for The Truth About My Bat Mitzvah

Nana
I know the end is very near.
I will miss Caroline, who I hold so dear,
I shall leave behind something so she knows I’m not far.
A very special necklace that holds a Jewish Star.
This necklace will link her to my past.
And leave her with new memories that I hope will last.
More than Chinese food dinners, smell of perfume and watching me put on my face.
But learning about her heritage and my past is what I hope she does embrace.
