This book was very good. I liked this book because Katie's dad passed away and her mom remarried this guy named Sam Gold but Katie does not like him at all, because they moved to the country and Katie goes to a different school and has no friends and a whole lot more problems. โ˜น๐Ÿ˜ฆ

Good Book But Nothing Special

I liked this book.

This book made me think more about friendship.

This book is about a girl's innermost feelings when all of a sudden, her family is changing and she doesn't know what to expect. This book is great if you like relatable characters and situations. However, this book does not have anything that really makes it stand out from other books. If you want a book that will make you think beyond your comfort zone, choose a different book.

I loved it!

It was actually pretty good. It was really relaxing. I read it in the morning when I woke up. It was very interesting. It always brightened my day. It was about a girl and her dad who died in the war. Her mom remarried to a guy named Sam... It was a little sad but I still liked it.

An 11 year old girl moves far away from her home to live with her new father. Life just isn't the same until that very faithful day when Katie Roberts go to New York to live with her old neighbor without her mother knowing. I loved this book!

This book made me think more about the importance of family.

When I read this book, I thought about how much Katie Roberts has a life like mine! It felt nice to be able to relate so much to this character, instead of reading more about people with perfect lives. Also, the format was really fun! It was like a real diary! READ THIS BOOK!!!!
(even though it was short, I still loved it. I don't think you should judge a book by it's page numbers)

Thumbs up!

When I saw this book for the month, I knew it was going to be intense. I love reading diaries, and books with interesting plots. When I read the reviews and summaries, I started to like it even more. What's better than a good diary about a girl moving from New York to Texas? When you think about that, it seems interesting. I can't wait for it to come! I love reading and I think this book will expand my love of books. Overall it looks great and I can't wait!

I would recommend this book for people who like reading diaries and like learning about living in the countryside.

Thumbs up!

Once I started reading this book, I couldn't put it down!! Katie Roberts misses her father dearly after his death in World War II. But now, Katie is facing other problems. Why does her mother have to marry Sam Gold?? Why does she have to move to the country?? (She sure loves it in the city!) Read more in her diary to find out what she will do!

Author of The Private Notebook of Katie Roberts, Age 11

“I'm a writer, but I also love to walk (with a dog is best) and eat ice cream." -- Amy Hest

Amy Hest loves writing children’s books! She also loves walking in the rain, playing with her dog, and biking. Here are a few things she doesn’t like: sewing, lima beans, long car rides, bullies, and reptiles of any kind. You know what she works hard on? Writing! Even though Amy has written nearly 50 books, every day she tries to be a better writer than she was the day before.

Here are a few tips that Amy has for you:
1. Write about people you know (always change their names, though).
2. Write about places you know.
3. Write about everyday things.
4. Get yourself a big garbage can! (Mine is HUGE! If I don’t like what I write, I toss it right in.)
