I loved this book!

This book made me think more about friendship.

I really liked this book because the characters were cool, and the story was good because it had humor, it was touching, characters learned how to deal with loss, and the friendships weren't cliquey. I would recommend this book.

This book was just OK

2 and 1/2 stars. Not my favorite. Too like every other book on the shelf. Characters are fine, but not very original. You might consider it if you want to learn a bit more about track. Otherwise pick something else!

REALLY GOOD!

This book was just OK

This was a good book but why do this on a Jewish library? It taught me NOTHING about being Jewish so but otherwise it was really good.

This book is cool and teaches to overcome difficulties.

I liked this book.

This book made me think more about the importance of family.

This book is not my favorite PJ Our Way book (shout out to the book Black Radishes!), but it's good to read.

This was such an awesome and interesting story/storylines

I liked this book.

This book made me think more about friendship.

It was an interesting book - I liked how it was about determination. It wasn't the best PJOurWay that I've gotten, but it is one of the better ones. I would recommend it.

Not that great not that bad

I thought it was not that bad, but not that great. The story was kind of slow and boring. If I were you I would try to pick another book option.

Thumbs up!

This book made me think more about friendship.

I loved this book. It had great characters who were all very different. The book was touching and funny. Josheph has a good character and Heather has a sad life but Josheph helps her get through it. By the end of the book the runners on the team seemed like family. I wished it would never end because I wanted to hear more about Josheph, Ms. Fishbein and Josheph's grapndpa, and everyone else.

Nobody can put it down!

This book was a great read. A boy named Joseph starts as a very skinny and not very sporty middle schooler. But he slowly rises to the top. He may not beat other people, but he beats his PR (personal record). This story is sort of sending a message to readers like, "No matter where you started, you will always have a good end." Even my mom was absorbed in this book! You must read it. It is very good for a boring weekend, or any other day!

AWESOME

I loved this book!

This book made me think more about friendship.

This book is so good! When I read it I wished it would never end. This story was very inspiring, and made me think about how important it is to have good friends and family who always support you and push you to do your best. I also thought about how if your good at something, go try and help someone who may not be as good, but really wants to try, just like Heather did for Joseph.

Inspiring

Thumbs up!

When I read Sidetracked, I felt inspired to try something new. I thought that it was kind of Joseph to cheer on the slower boy the way he did. The only thing that I would change about this book is that I would have liked the characters to pressure Joseph a little less. I also liked that Joseph had realistic feelings for cross country running. He wasn't immediately crazy about it. But over time, he realized that it wasn't as important to be better than everyone else. The important thing was to build up his own strength. Sidetracked made me feel empowered, and it has a great message.

Awesome!

Side tracked? LETS GET READY TO RACE!
Submitted 1/29/2018 by lightandjoy

I would read more books by this author.

This book made me think more about friendship.

So if you where running in a race and a friend that was in a different team got pushed of the track by someone else, what would you do? A. would you continue running? B. would you stop and help him or her even if he or she tells you to go and run on and even if it would mean coming in the very last? or would you do C. do something else instead of being nice and helping them?
I would do B. it is the right thing to do, and it means that you are willing to help someone in need instead of winning a race or a game (I would even help a wild bird, animal or sea animal and even help a tame animal, bird or sea animal), that is what friendship is helping a friend in need.
Now if someone who is really nasty to you all the time, got pushed of the track in a race, what would you do? A. B. or C. (look above to see which one is which,)
I would still do B. because it is still the right thing to do, even if the person is nasty to you.
Would you do B.? and do the right thing, and show you care even if they are nasty to you?
This book is not entirely about this it is also about this boy who can get side tracked very easily, was doing soccer but got convinced into racing by his soccer coach, this boy also has a lot of decisions to make along the way. So lets race through the book to find out more! I really liked this book, but it is not my favorite book but it can teach you things if you really think about it, like I went ahead and took one thing out of the book and made it into a review, and if you are reading carefully you can see what the book is getting at. Can you find any other area in this book or in other books that can teach you things?
Thank you PJ our way!

it was a very good book :)

I liked this book.

This was a good story and had some funny parts. There was nothing Jewish in it so I'm not sure why it's a PJ book but I did like it anyway.
