This book was just OK

This book made me think more about being Jewish.

This book was good, but just like every other holocaust book. It was good though. The best part was it was about a doggie!

Very detailed book

Thumbs up!

This book made me think more about the importance of family.

I think that this book has some hard values in it. I tells you about the importance of family, friends, and animals such as dogs. It has a lot of different feelings in it too. I think that Miriam Halahmy wrote this book very, very well.

Short but cute and sad

This book was really well written. It was about a dog and a boy who were in World War II. I gave this book 4 out of 5 stars because it was really sad. In the end, this is a really good book.

This book made me think more about the importance of family.

I loved this book, I think more kids should read it. I love my family and my animals they mean a lot to me. It is sad what people old and young had to go through in the past. I love that it teaches about some history at the same time it is telling a terrific story.

Interesting, very sad

I loved this book!

This book made me think more about friendship.

This book is the best because Rudi thought more about his dog than his own safety and he also underestimated how much the people who had taken him in loved him. Also, before they moved from his old home in Russia, he did not realize how much he loved his sister, and mom and dad.

One of the Best Books I've Ever Read

I loved this book!

This book made me think more about the importance of family.

I loved this book but it is a little sad. This book focuses on one specific person as he runs away and has an amazing life, and I really liked that. It's a little sad because the Nazis tried to hurt the Jews. I would give this book 5 stars and I think you will too.

Must read it!

Hanno is adorable! I liked that the boy saved him from being put down by the family that was taking care of him.

I would read more books by this author.

I learned more about Jewish history from this book.

The reason I gave it four stars but not five was because if you know nothing about the Nazis or Hitler, then for you this could be a very sad story. Since I already knew about the nazis I was fine with it. I liked learning about a kid one year older than me have to go through the times of Hitler and the Nazis

Very good, but sad

I learned more about Jewish history from this book.

This was a very sad book. It was during the Holocaust, and so many people and animals were dying. It was happy because they were ok in the end, but it was a very sad book.

I didn't like this book as much because of the age level, but I would definitely recommend it for a younger audience. It would be more engaging and more fun for 8-9 year olds.

I loved this book!

This book made me think more about friendship.

At first when I started this book it was sad. But once I really got into it, it got exciting. I realized in this book that Rudi had an incredible friendship with his dog Hanno. My favourite line in this book is when Tilly is talking and she says that ''this war is for children and their animals." Rudi has an older sister Lotte and he has a best friend Sidney. Just so you know Rudi is from Germany and moved to England.

great book

This book taught me a lot about family and standing up for the ones you love. I loved this book because I'm a dog lover and I can sympathize with the characters for those reasons. If you are a dog lover just like me who would do anything to save your dog or any dog, this is the book for you.
