Action Packed Historical Fiction Novel

Review by Joseph

Helen and Henry are Jewish children from Frankfurt. Their mom is forced to leave them at a French convent to hide their Jewish identity. Henry, the younger child, does not talk because he is too scared. Helen tries to help her younger brother, but she is unsuccessful. The Nazis enter town for the first time and the convent became more secretive. To hear whether Henry finds his voice and whether the kids escape the Nazis wrath, you have to read this nerve-racking and exciting novel. This is a great book for kids that love historical fiction specifically about Jewish children during World War II.

It had a very captivating storyline! The characters unique personalities were also interesting. I definitely would recommend this book! I think kids ages 9-12 would enjoy this book. - Ella, PJ Our Way Advisory Committee
