Homecourt

by: Larry Needle
Red was one of the smallest kids in his grade, but he wasn’t going to let that stand in the way of his dream: to play basketball. This is the true story of a boy who overcame the odds to become the shortest ever player on an NBA championship team.

This book is awesome! 4 stars

Review by Alice

This book is a great read if you're someone who loves basketball. Almost every other page is full of facts about the sport! The other pages tell the story of Louis "Red" Klotz, the Jewish founder of the Washington Generals. Red's team played the Harlem Globetrotters countless times, and lost nearly every game. Red is said to be one of the biggest losers in sports history, but this book tells the other side of the story. In under a hundred pages, it recounts Red's ambition, his perseverance, and his determination. Red's story shows how important it is to keep doing what you love, to keep pushing limits, no matter how many there may be. Highly recommended!
