When Simon’s family moves to the country, it looks like his dream is about to become true! But farming’s not as easy as it looks, especially when you’ve got cheating chicken dealers, duck disasters, and a best friend who’s not acting like much of a friend at all.
I liked this book for a lot of reasons. First, I was able to relate to the Jewish parts, like celebrating Shabbat and the holidays. Also, I liked reading about Simon’s dream about wanting to be a farmer and then having his wish come true because it made him happy. I also liked when Aunt Rifka came from the old country because she was able to have a better life in America. I think kids who like reading realistic historical fiction books and Jewish stories would like to read this book. Also, I think kids who like farming and animals would enjoy the book.
