Find out what they had to say below!
Brenna, 12, Design Team
I really liked being creative and coming up with different ways to hook the audience. My advice is to think outside the box if you want to catch people’s attention.
Danielle, 12, Design Team
My favorite part of being on the team was making a lot of the fun projects and videos. My advice is: Budget your time!
Elana, 11, Design Team
My favorite part of being on the Design Team was being able to see the videos, reviews, and quizzes I made posted on the web site. One piece of advice is to make sure you turn your assignments in on time and to have fun! You should join because it is very fun to create the content and talk with other Design Team members in meetings.
Ezra, 10, Design Team
My favorite part of the design team was the meetings. I made a few friends here, and it was cool seeing people. My advice is to have fun and play around! It’s gonna be great.
Hanah, 10, Content Team
My favorite part of being on the Content Team was all the videos. My advice is to have fun and don’t go into it being nervous. If you are nervous, then try to remember that it’s only for fun!
Isabella, 11, Design Team
My favorite part of being on the National Design Team was that I got to read the books before they were published!
Jeremy, 11, Content Team
My favorite part of being on the Content Team was how when I was making the videos, sometimes I actually got to do the things – like when I was making a video about reading, I was really reading, inside and outside. My advice is that you should try to make your video so that everyone can learn something from it.
Lilah, 9, Design Team
I loved being part of the National Design Team because I got to read a lot of different books, and I got to be creative with the quizzes, polls, and book reviews. My advice: When you’re doing a video or anything really, look at every little aspect of it. One little thing could change the whole project.
Michael, 10, Content Team
Being on the Content Team was really fun, and it helped me learn how to use different software to edit my videos. I also learned that I should think of an idea early; that way, I can relax a little later.
Nathalie, 11, Content Team
My favorite part of being on the content team was probably making the videos and trying to make them funny but at the same time make them meaningful. My tip is just be yourself. Don’t worry about time, don’t worry about anything. Do what you need to do and have fun.
Rylee, 10, Content Team
My favorite part was just meeting different people because I’m a people-person. It was really cool to see everybody and where they lived around the country. I also liked making new friends and getting to meet an author. My advice is to have fun, take care of yourself, and be free. Don’t be afraid to try something new! Don’t hold yourself back.
Sophie, 12, Content Team
I liked how creative I could get with the videos I made. I had endless possibilities, and I felt in control. Some advice I would give is to let your imagination go wild, be open to ideas, and don't be afraid to try something new. Just go for it! I think other kids should join because it gives you a chance to use your imagination and share your ideas with others.
Xela, 13, Content Team
My favorite part of being on the Content Team was meeting all the new people and making videos. My advice is to think about what other kids might want to know and then take what you thought and try to really construct a video to make it fun.
Yona, 11, Design Team
My favorite part of being on the National Design Team was reading a lot of new books and doing all the hands-on projects like quizzes and polls or videos. I think that what you should know if you’re on to the Content or Design Team is that don’t leave your assignments to the last minute – I’ve learned from past experience! Also, just have fun with it. It’s not a test; you’re not comparing yourself to anyone else. Take it easy.
