This is a great book! I liked it because it was a page-turner and very interesting. I also enjoyed it because the it is set in the '60s which, I like. It is a nice length and I would definitely recommend. (P.S. It does have one mild swear word in it)
This book had an intriguing theme and was certainly a page turner. With great dynamic characters and many plot twists on the way - I would recommend.
This book focuses on Ariel, a young girl who lived during a time in which people of different races wouldn’t usually get married. Her parents also agreed with this ruling. But when Ariel’s older sister, Leah, falls in love with Raj, no one knows what to think. On top of that, the family bakery isn’t doing its best. This book really brings up a lot of questions! I recommended this book to anyone who wants a thrilling read.
I enjoyed this book a lot! It had a very intriguing plot line and was very well written. It is about Ariel, a girl who lived during a time of oppression for Jews and people of other races. Ariel's older sister, Leah, has a secret boyfriend named Raj. Raj is Indian, and Leah is Jewish. This was rare at the time. People normally married people of their own race. Something you might want to know before you read this book is that it is in second person, meaning YOU do the actions. You are Ariel. This was very interesting to me, since the only books that have ever been in second person that I have read are Choose Your Own Adventure books. I thought that made it very interesting. I would definitely reccomend. I gave it four stars because it was not one of my favorite books, but I enjoyed it nonetheless. I would reccomend this book for anyone who likes stories with great character arcs and stories that make you think deeply.
I loved this book is so sad but at the same time has that perfect happy ending everyone both wants and needs. I personally love realistic fiction and this is perfect because it is dated back to the 80s or 90s so it makes you question how many people this really happened to. And it helps you learn a lot about the time period. Overall this book has a really good story line
