It was OK

Review by ART0101

This book is about Maple Mehta-Cohen, a girl who has dyslexia, a condition which makes it hard to read. She has kept it a secret for as long as she can remember, but her teacher finds out. They talk it over with the parents and decide that they are going to hold Maple back (make her stay in the same grade for another year). This means that her two best friends will not be in her grade, and this makes them not want to hang out with her. While she's dealing with that, she's embarrassed she got held back so lies to her classmates that she was kept in this class to 'help out'. I didn't really like it because it frustrated me how she refused to talk to anyone and it really made me feel angry because of how she deals with her dyslexia. Still a good book, just not the type I enjoy. :)

I really loved how funny this book was and how it talks about how you need to change yourself. Huge shoutout to dyslexic people. I definitely recommend this one.

Great book.

Review by RuffRuff

This was a pretty good book. I liked the plot but not the writing style. Also it got confusing and weird at some points like near the end of the story Maple is writing. It didn’t have much about Maple being Jewish in though and doesn’t really talk about Judaism. The end of it seemed a bit rushed, and didn’t really resolve Aislynn’s problems with Maple. Overall it was a great book but not the best one I’ve ever read.
