Nice Light Read

Review by Aquamarine9

So while this book was really short (took me like 30 minutes to read) it was also really well constructed. It had the perfect balance of sad and funny parts. It also was relatable in ways I wasn’t expecting, not going to spoil, but we all lie sometimes to get out of sticky situations. Overall this book is really good and I recommend it.

A compassionate book about changes and acceptance

Review by LTinuviel

I was attracted to this book because I have a similar heritage to Meskerem, the main character (only it's Ethiopian and European-American rather than Israeli). What I liked the most about this warmhearted story is that I could identify with Meskerem, but I think all readers can too because we all experience situations like hers, whether it's moving to a new area, going to a bigger school, or being misunderstood because we're different from others in some way. I like how the story showed that feeling uncomfortable in these can make you act grumpy and maybe even act unlike your usual self, but your family still loves you and yet helps you to feel and act better.

Pretty Good

Review by RuffRuff

This book had a unique plot line, which I liked, but it didn’t fully capture my attention and took, like, 20 min to read. I kind of cared about the characters, but the book was so short I couldn’t get to know the characters very well.
