About a girl who wants to be a woodcarver during a time when girls weren't allowed. Will her dream come true? Great story about courage and determination.

I got this book a while ago and it was SO GOOD! It doesn't have anything bad in it and it's a really good book. It's about the main character Batya who wants to be a woodcarver but is discouraged because she was a woman and an immigrant from Russia. At the time, women were discriminated a lot because it was in the early 1900s when women couldn't even vote. This is a fictional story but it could've been real. I strongly encourage you to read this book, and I bet you won't regret choosing it!

Amazing book you should totally get

Reading this book inspired me to be like the main character. She was very courageous, creative and fearless. I recommend it.

I think this is a really good book. It's appropriate for all ages, and it describes what it was like to be a girl in 1914 in Russia and then in America. I thought it was really interesting because I was able to see that and I'm 1/2 Russian and can speak Russian so I found out what life was like then there. I recommend this book strongly. Hope you read it!
