I did like this book so much. I was not interested in the topic (older day cowboys). I did not picture it the way it was. I expected it to be completely different.
I love this book so much I recommend it to eight year old's
If you like historical fiction (like me), I would definitely recommend this book. I like how Rose's family is originally Russian, but they soon move to America, and yet they live close to Mexico and experience a lot of Mexican culture. It also includes adventure and complicated choices. So in conclusion, definitely read this book!
I think this book was good, but had some deep flaws in the writing and story. First, I never quite understood the backstory of why she had to get her brother and why he went there. Second, I think that the book was slowing down on the real story and aspect and did not understand the girl that was supposedly treating her like a slave, and why she was so scared if she could just jump down from the mountain anyway. And also why the guys that were bringing her there were trying to capture her. Third, I think that it was written in small letters and did not leave a big impression. It was just boring. I liked some of the morals and aspects of it, and some of the parts were a little interesting, but in all it did not leave a very big and good impression on me.
This book was interesting, but it was also very confusing. Some parts didn’t make sense, and it doesn’t really explain everything at the end. I like how it had Spanish words, though, because you can learn some words that may come useful someday.
