it was very hard for me to follow along at age 11 my 13-year-old sister also had I hard time reading it.
This book is awesome. It talks about my people getting out into freedom. I also have a Rahel doll just like the story. Rahel is a brave leader who lead her people and Sahay's people out of Umm Rekuba.
Honestly, I stopped reading halfway through because I was bored... this is personally not a good book, and I wouldn't recomend it to anyone who likes more fantasy and adventure packed books like me.
It's beautiful how the blind girl's grandmother made the necklace for her to remember the Bible stories and her voice when she touches the beads. It's sweet how the sick girl helped the blind girl though she hated the blind girl's tribe. I would say this story was an adventure about friendship, memories and trust.
This was a good book but kinda sad! I would recommend this book to 10+
