This book is full of adventures of two brothers who are good friends but sometimes don’t see eye to eye.

Hadas, age 9, Seattle, WA In the book “All Star Season”, Reuven and his younger brother Avi play baseball. Reuven is really good at pitching and Avi is really good at catching, so they make a great team at baseball. In the book, Reuven is very eager to be chosen to play at the All-star game. This is the biggest game of the season and only the best players get to play in this event. I loved this book! I loved the relationship between the two brothers, and the baseball background made it fun! I especially liked Avi because he was more careful than his brother. One part I particularly loved about this book was when Reuven persuaded Avi to try play along with him, so he could try a curveball. In their conversation, Reuven was eloquent and was able to allure his brother into helping him, despite Avi’s own reservations. I empathized with Reuven in this episode, since I often try and convince my younger brother and sister to play along with me in my games. I would recommend this book to people who are interested in baseball, of course, and to those who would like to enjoy a good story about brotherhood. This book is full of adventures of two brothers who are good friends but sometimes don’t see eye to eye, and that is what makes this book interesting and fun to read.

Baseball and Judaism coming together

Review by Design Team

Akiva, age 11, Israel I liked this book. Maybe that’s because I really like the idea of baseball and the Judaism coming together. I really liked the story and how it explained the way to play ball and how baseball games work.
