This book is pretty good in my opinion. It was a bit of a hard read for me (it seemed boring in the beginning), but I pushed myself to read the entire book and I realized that it was a good book! It's a sad story, though, but sometimes sad stories are more interesting than others.
this book is about a climber girl named Nan who risks her life every day for no pay for a chimney sweep named Crud. before she worked for Crud, however, she swept with someone named The Sweep. One day, he left her, leaving her only with a crumbly char. One day, she is sweeping chimneys for Crud when she gets caught in a chimney fire. Her crumbly char from The Sweep catches fire and turns into a golem that Nan helps take care of, and in turn, the Golem, who she names Charlie, saves her. I really recomend this book.
This book is wonderful. It is a little sad at the end, but it teaches a meaningful lesson. I read this book a year ago and still think about it sometimes.
I love this book, because it has some mystery and some sadness. If this book didn’t have sadness it wouldn’t be realistic, because everywhere in the world something bad happens. This book was about a girl, her golem-(a small medium or big creature that grew from charcoal, coal,or a rock object.) and they’re struggles to survive.
This is The Most Amazing Story. I was captured by Charlie immediately, and I just fell in love with his character. I kept rooting for him all through the book!! I really enjoyed how he looks at the world and asks all sorts of questions. Nan is so brave and even though we see her go through some kind of hard stuff in a different time in history, it was told in a way like I could understand her feelings, and always made her sound strong and smart. I also really loved how we learn about a different time in history with such a unusual lifestyle. I think I read the book so fast because the story really stirred my imagination... I felt like I was living in their world, and felt like each step of their adventures was something I was actually a part of! LOVED THIS BOOK!!!
