At first I thought that it was going to be a cliche story about moving to a new town, but I was pleasantly surprised by how different was and it turned out very good. (also the way they described the food made me want donuts)

Be sure to read the sequel, the doughnut king!!

this book great! Iv'e read it so many times and i will still read it again. some other people wrote reviews for it saying that it didn't have any jewish stuff in it, which is sort of true but i think that the lesson and general vibe of the book is jewish. this book is a great read that has you feeling like you ARE tristan and you are right THERE, in petersville. you should definitley read this this book!

it's a really really good book and I really recommend it!! However, there isn't really that much Jewish... anything in it. There are some Jewish recipes (like challah and sufganiyot) and a couple Yiddish words, that's kinda it.
