I loved this book but it is a little sad. This book focuses on one specific person as he runs away and has an amazing life, and I really liked that. It's a little sad because the Nazis tried to hurt the Jews. I would give this book 5 stars and I think you will too.

Hanno is adorable! I liked that the boy saved him from being put down by the family that was taking care of him.

The reason I gave it four stars but not five was because if you know nothing about the Nazis or Hitler, then for you this could be a very sad story. Since I already knew about the nazis I was fine with it. I liked learning about a kid one year older than me have to go through the times of Hitler and the Nazis

This was a very sad book. It was during the Holocaust, and so many people and animals were dying. It was happy because they were ok in the end, but it was a very sad book.
