THIS BOOK IS SO GOOD!!!!! In my class we read the first book, The war that saved my life, and when I saw the sequel here, I just HAD to get it. I even convinced my teacher to read it in class. This book is about a girl named Ada who has a cubed foot. She is 10 years old and lives with her guardian, Susan. Her club foot surgery is coming up in the hospital, and Ada is super duper nervous. Then when the surgery is through, Ada finds out that her mum died, but is not that sad. She also loves horses, and her friend has a stable full of them. But then Lady Thornton comes to live with them, and German/Jwewish Ruth comes form Germany to live with them too. Can Ada snuggle the sadness she has to go through and facing Ruth? Only time will tell! Although I recommend to read the sequel first, because then this book makes more sense. The first book is "The war that saved my life". I recommend this book to people who like books about friendship, adventure, and history.
I really liked the first one the war that saved my life and this is just as good
This book is really good! Even though it's not a fantasy book, I recommend it to people who love fantasy, adventure, and/or realistic or historical fiction because it has a fun spirit of adventure. Ada (the main character) is super fun to read about, and the plot is wonderful! This book is definitely a must-read.
This book is like no other! The main character faces unique challenges, and the fact that it is set in WWII adds so much. I totally recommend!!
