This was a very well-composed book, but pickled watermelon, the title, is mentioned and talked about for about 2-4 pages! It also never really had a main plot or a driving plot device, but it was very interesting and thoughtful.

This book makes me want to visit Israel -even if it was not a recent year this book takes place in.
