I really liked the book, especially the kibbutz part. Even though the book didn't have a lot of the pickled watermelon in it it was still cool to see the main character trying new foods and walking around outside. I would definitely recommend this book.

I can relate to the book, because I am from Israel.Also there was many people in the story and many political views.I would recommend this to kids 9+.
