I loved this book because Ruthie is so strong and courageous. She makes me feel as though I can do anything and I can be very strong-willed when put in a difficult situation. The only complaint I have is that it feels like the book took a while to truly begin and start the plot, maybe it is just me and but it definitely has an amazing plot when the story truly starts. This definitely a very good read and it helps you have lots of empathy for others, even my librarian who has read many books has this as one of her favorites this year! Thank you so much Ruth Behar for creating this amazing, beautiful memoir.
i gave this book to my little cousin naomi
Okay, technically this is my second review of this book-BUT! I got my teacher at school to get my whole literacy book club group to read it, and everyone in my group LOOVED it! I think- to respond to another review I read that says that the title made it sound more drastic than her "JUST A BROKEN LEG" really was, that even though she only broke her leg, she was kept in a BODY CAST for 11 MONTHS!! So I'm sorry that you weren't happy with the title, but Ruth Behar is an incredible writer and is so brave! I just ADORE this book so much! P.S. sorry about all the caps used. it's just that when i feel strongly about a topic, I use CAPITAL LETTERS
I thought it was very sad. I cried most of the book. But once I finished it, I really enjoyed it!
Is an amazing book about a girl named Ruth and if you want 2 pick a book worth reading PICK THIS BOOK. I would totally read any book by this author is definitely a must read!
