The book was really interesting and unique. I liked that this story was based on the authors true story. I also liked how Ruthie had her Jewish culture and Puerto Rico culture. It reminded me of a book I read in third grade called Jalapeño Bagels. There were a lot of good characters.
My friend and I read this book and we both loved it! I would totally recommend this book!
The book Lucky Broken Girl by Ruth Behar a really good book. It is about a poor family who gets a new car. While driving back from visiting family Ruthie, the main character, falls asleep and wakes up badly injured after a car accident. She goes to the doctor and they put her into a body cast for about a year. Being in the cast at first was horrible for her. She could't move at all or go anywhere. After a bit, she learned that she could experience new things and have fun while being stuck in bed. It helped me me learn and understand that you should be happy with what you have because it can always be much worse. You should ready this book. It was great!
I can’t describe how wonderful this book is. Ruth is so brave and I just love Danielle.
