This book taught me what it means to have different cultures that you grow up with. Tara Feinstein, the protagonist, goes through a lot because she is Hindu and Jewish. Her two futures collide, and things are a little crazy at her house. But, she also has some problems—love life troubles! Can she do her bat mitzvah, figure her love life out, and make new friends? If there's one thing this book tells you, it that Tara Feinstein never backs down!
When I saw this at first I didn't think it was good, but then I read it. It was really good.
I read this book from my school library. It was pretty good, but not the best. It's about a girl who's Indian and Jewish and wants to have a bat mitzvah, but runs into some problems. It reminded me of The Whole Story of Half a Girl, another PJ Our Way book.
It seems like a good book with a GREAT idea (Indian-Jewish) but the whole Ben-O thing kind of threw it off. It is good though..
I liked this book because it was interesting to learn about another culture. It also showed that you can be more than one thing at once. by Lia, age 11
