I like how the main character has a choice. be a friend, or go follow the crowd. this kind of made me reflect on a quote. “if you are given the choice between being right and being kind, choose kind.” I’m not quite sure who said that, but it’s good advice. It also reminded me of something one of my teachers taught us. Being weird is good. if somebody calls you weird, take it as a compliment.
this was a sad book and it was a little hard to understand. overall it was good.
When a boy hears the news that his cleaning lady died in a car accident he feels sad. But when his cleaning lady's son named Buddy starts going to Sam's schools. People wonder why Buddy does not talk and keeps to himself. Only Sam knows his sad secret. But when people see Sam hanging out with who they think is an outcast will sam stick with buddy or will he follow the crowd?
This is a good book!!!!! It is also sad, but really good.
Understanding Buddy is a great book about taking risks and doing what is right.
