This book was ok /:

Review by gmurillo

this book was ok.. it had a good story and good meaning but Katie Roberts (main character) was annoying and a brat. Katie Roberts did not act like her age (12) she acted like she was 8. /: it had an unexpected ending. it just all of a sudden ended????? ok then.. I understand if the author wanted us to read the next part to this book but she could've ended it better.

Review by StrawberryCutie

THIS BOOK IS SOO GOOD!!!!!! it is about katie roberts and her life. her dad died in WWII and she got a new dad. her freind in new York City sent her a green notebook and she wrote about a TON of stuff including her secrets....... when she has to tutor a new boy in her class, she gets really mad. She hates her teacher , and gets mad at her mom when she invites him to dinner. Then she said something unforgivable to the new kid. Will he forgive her? Read the book!!!

A Texan Jew in the Late '40s

Review by gymnastgirl07

The Great Green Notebook of Katie Roberts (who just turned 12 on Monday) is an incredibly realistic diary about the life of a tween. It takes place a few years after World War II, in which Katie's dad died fighting. She feels like her mother is spending WAY too much time with her 1-year-old twin brothers and her (mom's) boyfriend. She also feels underprivileged (she can't wear makeup) and alone (everyone seems too busy to notice her and feels that her best friend, Lucie, dumped her for the mean girl, Joyce). The rest of the details are in the book, so if you like the description of this book so far, you should DEFINITELY read it!
