There is a boy named Gustave who lives in Paris. He has two friends. His cousin Jean Paul and another friend, Marcel. When World War 2 started, Gustave’s family moved to a town called St. Georges, which was in the unoccupied zone but not by much. After a year of living there, his family gets a letter from his aunt. I learned about the occupied and unoccupied zones and how hard it was for families who were separated.

This book is really good, because it has a good storyline and it gets intense at parts which is something I like.so if you like a book with a basic storyline ,and gets intense at parts, get this book!!!

I would give this book 4.5 stars. It was really good but not my favorite book ever. I recommend it!
