THIS BOOK WAS AWESOME!!!!!! But if you do not like sad things, this is a terrible book for you. It takes place just after the Holocaust, and there is death. But it is REEEAAALLLYYYY GOOD so you should definitely read it!!!!!!!!
This book is deeply moving and rich in its story telling. It tells the story of orphaned, traumatized and bereft children who are brought to an Israeli youth village after surviving the Shoah. The story centers around Aviya (who is Gila Almagor) who has her own trials and tribulations and finds comfort and love under her beloved domim tree.
I liked the book very much because of how long and dramatic it is. Another reason is the main character Aviya is in love and goes through a lot. She also must find out who her father is. In order to find out who he was Aviya has to convince her mother to tell her. I would recommend this book to people who like romantic books.
I liked this book a lot! I liked this book because it gave me more information about Jewish history. I would recommend this book to others because they might be able to relate to the main character’s situation. Someone who likes to learn about history would like this book. Someone who supports the State of Israel also would enjoy this book. In this book I learned that after the Holocaust during World War II Jewish children were sent to youth villages all over Israel. Also, I learned that most of those villages had a Domim tree.
this book had lots off twists and turns
