This was a good book. I did NOT like how she (the author) put it in a Catholic's perspective, though. I felt as though Maria criticized the Jews a lot. Other than that , though I thought that this was a really good book.
really good book !!!!!!!!!!!
I liked this book because it made me think more about keeping secrets and being Jewish.
It was a great book because I learned about the Inquisition which is you either convert or leave and if not you could get killed or questioned. So it tells about Maria's experience and how her a pinion changed.
This was a very interesting story about a Converso family (converted to Catholicism rather than be expelled from Spain in the 1400s) told from the perspective of a young Catholic maidservant who lives with them. Universal themes of loyalty, kindness, and hope are also woven beautifully through this book. I am glad I read it and recommend you read it, too.
