It is a wonderful book! I would recommend this book if you like historical fiction.
This book is a really good book.but it’s kind of sad 😢
I chose this book years ago, and only because I didn't like any of the other options. On the preview, it looked like a book full of Yiddish words and blurry pictures. I'm not a big fan of those. I like reading things I understand and relate to. This book sat on the bookshelf for a long time. However, within the first few weeks of April this year, I was fully absorbed in this outstanding story. How wrong I had been; angles weren't even the main focus of the book. At the beginning of a long, tiring pandemic, reading how Hannah's school getting shut down, the idea of quarantine, getting separated from your family, moved me to tears. I found so many connections to Hannah. A girl my own age, with younger siblings she loved dearly, while at the same time wanted to throw off a bridge, the similarities were scary. My mother's maiden name was Gold, and I lost my Baubie Rose, similar to Hannah's Tante Rose. This book provided great comfort to me during these trying times.
I love this book.
One of the best books about the Infleunza epidemic I have read! Great book!
