I'm a sucker for good historical fiction and this was no exception. It was sad, rough, funny, and touching. I learned what life was like for a half white half black. I learned the importance of getting along with family and I also learned not to sneak into baseball games.
It was a good, short book.
I love that in this book, the kids are all nice and seem to like each other. The group often tried sneaking into baseball games, and eventually the main characters get to see a game.
Learn about racism and ineqality in the 1960s. When Joey becomes an orphan he is forced to move in with his other relatives. This book is about trying to fit in with them and having trouble doing it. But he loves baseball. Sometimes the baseball is affected by the racism in the area.
Stealing Home was the best book I got from Pj library. This book is inspiring, active and a little sad at the end part which is good because I love sad stories. This book teaches us also about black and white it doesn't matter what color your skin is it's what matters what you are from the inside. This book is very detailed like when I was reading in my bed I felt like I was watching everything that was going on in the book. I recommend this book to 8 years and older but really this book is just so good read it as soon as possible no matter what age you are. Thank you Ellen Schwartz for writing the best book in the world!!!!!!!!
