I had read this book right after reading ...too far from home. It showed me what the mother and grandmother's lives might have been like. It had all this hallmarks of a good book, adventure and friendship and the flute added music. I wish every child would read ...too far from home and the story tellers beads.
Sahay is a kind Ethiopian girl who doesn't like Jewish people. Rahel is a poor, blind Jewish girl that was forced to leave her home. When Sahay and Rahel meet, Sahay does not like her. Read this book if you want to know if they get along.
This book had many sad and happy moments. Overall, it was a really really good book. I liked that is was based on a true story and learning about Jewish history.
