I think that readers who enjoy realistic stories should read this. However, some kids may be Reform (I am) or Conservative, so Talia's Orthodox traditions may be confusing. Otherwise, it is the best PJ Our Way book I have read so far, and I've read a lot.
It is a really, really good book!
Being an only child, I related to Talia Schumacher a lot. Also, she is gifted and has synesthesia. All of this in mind, the book doesn't have a very satisfying ending. I dug around on the internet, but there's no sequel, at least published. All in all, One Is Not A Lonely Number is a good book with a un-satisfying ending.
this book is definitely a ages 10+ book.If you don't like really personal kinda books then probably read something else.I am 10 and a religious jew I have two siblings. But for 6 yrs I didn't have siblings.I feel like I would be her if I didn't have siblings!!
It's like the best book I've read from pj our way!! Talia is an only child and sort of wants a little sister or brother. Gabriel (Gabbers) is a mistreass girl who shows up on Shabbat. And is quite talkative too!! YOU HAVE TO READ THIS BOOK!!!!!
