I love it! It was very moving, and really interesting. Highly recommend.
i liked the braveness of the girl and how the book really made you feel like she is telling you her story in person
It was interesting how Rifka sent letters that could never be sent instead of keeping a journal. It was sad how long it took to get to America because of sickness, but I'm glad no one died. It had some sad parts, but was still a good read!
In this story Rifka is trying to escape from Russia to America with her family. Throughout her journey she writes letters to her cousin Tovah in the blank pages of a book of Pushkin poetry that Tovah gave her before Rifka left Russia. Her story has a lot of ups and downs, but Rifka still has courage. I highly recommend this book!
