Tucson Joe is about a girl who being free and having her own voice. She loves riding horses and wearing trousers which is all banned in the time she is living in. She moves to a small town in the dessert and her dad runs for mayor. Lots of people don't like him and Jo has to find a way to deal with unfair things. I liked this book because it shows that sometimes you just have to stand up and be brave to get what you want.
It was fun to read because I love horses.
This book was an enjoyable read, but the main character, Jo, argued with her dad a lot and that took away from the overall experience. I like horses so it was fun to read a book with horses.
The main character was very head strong and I rarely see Jewish books that take place outside of the east coast so it was interesting to get a different perspective. - Myla, PJ Our Way Advisory Committee Member
