Like the eggshell ceiling in the title, Loma and her family live a fragile existence in medieval Spain. Her family is influential (they even know the king and queen personally), but that doesn't stop them from being in danger from mob violence and expulsion from their home. Loma is relatable because she doesn't think of herself as heroic or smart, but she shows these strengths when faced with hardships. These include her own family members, who can be stubborn, difficult to get along with, and too controlling over their children's lives. I am Sephardic, and I always like to read about Jewish cultures from this part of the world. My mom has even seen many of the places in the book, and I'm happy to say that small Jewish communities now live in these areas again. Take that, Inquisition!
This book is very adventurous. It’s about a girl(Loma) who goes to help Jews around Spain a few years before the Grand Inquisition. There are a lot of things happening in the book.I would lend this book to someone who likes history.
amazing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I loved it, but i think there were too many deaths.
I can feel for Loma. I liked this book
