I love this book, and first read it in class, and I LOVE it.
It was good but it was a bit boring at the beginning so I didn’t really like that part of it, but it was really good overall and I liked it.
Before reading this book, I didn't know much about what happened in Denmark during WWII. This is based on a true story about two 12-year old boys and what they went through. One boy was Jewish and one wasn't. Highly recommended book. Good for kids to read.
It was a great book because it was deeply connected to Lois Lowry's "Number The Stars". They both had the same idea of the Danish people resisting the Nazis and helping Jews. They created resistance groups who helped Jews escape and sabotage the Nazis who controlled the railroads of Denmark.
The book “Hitlers Canary” was a VERY good book. It had very good details describing what was going on. This is the reason why I left 5 stars! I loved it!
