I like historical fiction, and a lot of the are from the perspective of certain people. This was cool because it talked about WWll without making it a Holocaust book.
I love this book. It is a great example of a story that's both specific (to Melvin's experiences in his time and place) and general (readers can relate to Melvin, no matter who we are and where and when we come from). For example, I'm like a combination of Melvin and Lenny because I'm African-American and Jewish and live in the Pacific Northwest, but I don't stutter or play the accordion. You might be like them (or like Millie) in a different way. But everyone has felt rejected or dorky or generally uncool at some time or another, and everyone has greatness inside them. Melvin and his friends inspire readers to bring out our inner greatness even when other people don't recognize it.
Book was very unique good read comfortable
Melvin should teach you that you should always believe in yourself and keep on going!
Great book
