I love this book! It was so encouraging to follow Ellie on her journey from shame and hiding to self-acceptance and speaking up for both herself and others. With the help of her therapist, Ellie learns how to demand respect from bullies without becoming a bully too. She also learned what had to be an incredibly painful lesson: what to do when some of the people who bully you are in your own home. I loved her friends Catalina, Viv, and her canine friend Gigi, who love her just as she is.
Fantastic book! It has an important moral - that you shouldn't judge people by their looks. Beautifully written! It has a good amount of detail that you could understand everything, but no so detailed that it got boring. If you can choose this book, you should! It's my favourite book I have ever gotten from PJ Our Way! 💗
I liked this book, but it wasn't amazing or bad it was just average in my opinion. I got mad when Ellie got mad and I felt sad for her. I like how, in the end, she knew how to stand up for herself! I recommend this book to anyone who needs to know they are loved! :)
Starfish is a wonderful book about a fat-shamed overweight girl named Ellie who must defend herself without attacking others.
It is a very bad book in my opinion. It is told entirely in a bunch of poems.
