If you've ever had to start a new life in a new place, you will feel a connection with Shai. She struggles to adjust to life in the United States, a place she never wanted to move to, and despite it all, she makes friends, discovers new customs and foods, and tries to take to heart her grandmother's advice to look at the positive side of things. I loved Shai's friends and the way they supported each other through family problems, prejudice, and middle-school "frenemy-ships."
I really liked this book. It was super amazing. I loved reading it and I would definitely recommend this book to anyone who can get this book.
I loved Not So Shy! My favorite part of this book was when Shai yells, “We are Hebrew speakers in this house!” And I really liked the part when Hakim, Jenny, Chris, and Shai make the DNA out of candies. But my absolute favorite part was when Jenny accuses Shai of stealing Olivia’s phone. I liked it when Safta got the clay hearts from her granddaughters. I love the mural that Shai and Gili make of the ocean with all the sea creatures in Shai’s bedroom. And I love the butterflies on Shai’s cast. 🇮🇱👩🏼🎨💜
This is an awesome book. I couldn't put it down.
This is a new favorite book for me.I'm obviously leaving five stars. OBVIOUSLY.
