I really liked reading about Clara Lemlich. The illustrations were really good. Although it was sad to read about how the people treated the workers, I learned a lot. The author made it very interesting. I highly recommend this book.
I have not just enjoyed the book, but it was also very related to me. I also was born in Ukraine, came to America at 5 y.o. First chapter was not just Clara's story, but also small introduction into my country's history. I loved the book and recommend it to all girls and boys!
Watch out, factory bosses! Here comes Clara Lemlich! This is a book about someone named Clara Lemlich who speaks out when she sees an injustice. She doesn't care if she gets arrested, beaten up, or if she has to keep secrets from her family. She persisted.
This book shows that you should stand up for what you believe in, and Clara Lemlich made a big difference on how women are treated in factories today.
