The book is so great I read it 4 times! Is a book that you can learn from you gigantic mistakes like sabatoging your own bat mitzvah.
I didn’t find this book enjoyable and thought Ellie was annoying.
I really liked this book. I would recommend it to anyone with stage fright/ fear of public speaking.
I liked it a lot until Ellie ignores Zoe over a food fight. I think she got PRETTY SELFISH there and I dislike it a LOT when she says it’s a matter of life and death for her when she is not the one who has a dog with cancer. Like I said, kind of selfish. But mostly good!
Crowds, family, messing up-it's the whole Bat Mitzvah routine. At least-that's what 13 year old Ellie thinks. Her older sister Hannah has had a Bat Mitzvah before, but Ellie wants to lay off it! But her Mom and Dad have the whole party rocking already. There is no possible way for Ellie and her friend to shut down the party. Unless Ellie thinks creatively, she might just have to roll with the party. Suddenly, her mind sparks! Email the DJ-shut down the party mixes! Hid the invites! Everything is going to go according to plan-but with her parents on cue with everything-there is no way they can't miss something like the invitations underneath Ellie's bed. Or the "music" Ellie wants to play at her party. So Ellie is left up to one choice-blow out the candles, or leave them lit! Full of page turners and great if you are going to have a Bar/Bat Mitzvah! Anyone will love this! Suspenseful and fun! You just need to find out what the girls are always up to!
