This book was so rich it made me cry a few times! I totally recommend this book to kids who like historical fiction and want to learn about the disaster at the Chernobyl Power Plant. I also like it because each chapter is written from three different perspectives: Valentina, Oksana and Rifka. It creates little cliffhangers at the end of each chapter and was a sound idea from the author.

I love how it was from two enamies and then they become friends.

The Blackbird Girls is such a great book. It is one of my favorite books I got at P J Library. I loved that the book had three different points of view. Oksana and Valentina remind me of my sister and I. My sister has blond hair, like Oksana ,and I have brown hair like Valentina. Also, we are both friends like Oksana and Valentina. I couldn't put the book down. Each chapter had so much action. If you are a fan of action and friendship, this book is just for you.

This story truly shows that even when things get tough, we can still persevere.
